Activity News
How did we get to December already!?
Here in Activities it has been and still is a work in progress implementing new activity choices. I am really striving to make sure I try and meet the needs of each and every one of our residents whether it be a group activity or independent ones, sometimes it's just being a ear to listen.
As some of you may have seen on our Facebook, we will not be doing the Adopt a Window this year. Family and or Friends are still more than welcome to decorate out side of your loved ones windows if you are wishing to do so. I do ask to please not put foam like stickers on the windows, they do not come off the windows. You are also more than welcome to decorate your loved ones rooms also if you wish.
A few reminders for the Winter and Holiday season:
It is a good time to go through your loved ones clothes and make sure they have warm clothes for the colder temperatures. When bringing in new clothing, please make sure they are marked with their initials. This is very helpful to the Laundry Department and the Nursing staff.
Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash is always a welcomed item for your loved one. We do have ours that the facility provides, however when it is their bath day in the Whirlpool we like to make it a special spa like experience with some products they may have used at home.
Some other reminders:
*Residents cannot have aerosol cans in their rooms such as air fresheners, shaving cream and hairspray. Also residents cannot have disposable razors in their room (they may be kept in the nurses room and the nurse would need to assist with shaving) A good electric razor is always a good choice. For the women, the Flawless Finishing Touch razor is a great choice! Can be found at Walmart, Walgreens and most like stores for around $20
Live Greenery and Poinsettias cannot be brought into the building. This would mean no Easter Lily's at Easter time as well.
Our Facetime is not working for video chats, if you have Facebook Messenger that is another option for the video chats. Those would be available Monday-Friday 9am-2pm. We still have indoor visiting available, no appointments are necessary. Currently there is no limit on visitors per resident. You still need to wear your mask when in the facility, you may remove your mask if you are Vaccinated once you get to the room of who you are visiting.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
