It is hard to believe it is already October where has this year gone? As the year begins winding down I want to remind everyone of a few things. Recently, anyone Medicare age should have or will be receiving new Medicare cards. If you received one for your loved one, please send a copy to the Great River Care Center so we can update your loved one’s information.  This is also the time of year to reevaluate your loved one’s belongings. It is a good time to start cleaning out the summer wardrobes and replenishing with cozy socks and warm shirts. It’s also a good time to take note of anything that has holes or wear and replace those items. This will also help for holiday gift giving. The best gifts for our residents are things they can use, including electric razors. This is a good gift idea for both men and women!

Lastly, I want to tell you about an upcoming event.   On Tuesday, November 27th at 7:00p.m. we will be hosting Dementia Education at Turner Pointe. Lisa Uhlenkamp of Assisted Living Partners will be coming to talk about the early signs of dementia and how to cope with the effects of Dementia. Lisa has presented to  many companies; this is a must for anyone wanting to understand dementia.
