National Nursing Home Week Events
Each year we spend a week celebrating National Nursing Home Week beginning on Mother's Day. We take the week to highlight life at the facility, to spend time with one another, to thank the staff who work tirelessly, and to have some extra special fun! I am so excited about this year's events.
On Sunday, May 12th we will be having a Mother's Day Luncheon. You are invited to join your mom (or grandma/great-grandma) for lunch at 12pm. Please RSVP to the facility at 563/873-3527 by Thursday, May 9th. The cost for holiday meals is $7 per person.
On Monday and Tuesday we have some special activities planned for residents and staff to enjoy together including a frog-jumping scavenger hunt, decorating straw hats, and some chicken dancing!
On Wednesday we will be enjoying a visit from Sheila the draft horse, we'll wear our decorated straw hats, and we will be having a cook-out for lunch with residents and staff. If you would like to join us please plan on bringing a dish to pass!
On Thursday we will be participating in an African drumming circle in the afternoon. I am so excited to see everyone participating!
And we will close out the week with a facility-wide pizza party. I'm sure there will be other special moments throughout the week and you are welcome to join us anytime.
