Activity Updates
It feels like it should be the dog days of summer already, but we are just entering June! I’m hoping that time slows down a little bit because it seems to be going by so quickly.
May was eventful and fun at the facility. We enjoyed National Nursing Home Week and all the fun that brings. To keep going with the theme of Celebrating Life’s Stories we are inviting residents, family, and staff to participate in sharing more about themselves with a special Father’s Day display called the Father’s Day Wall of Fame. We will be displaying pictures of the fathers in the facility along with other fathers we hold dear. So please, help us out by bringing in some pictures to display. I will make copies of any pictures you’d like put up and add a caption with them. Let me know if you have any questions. Next month we will be creating a wedding display, so start gathering your old wedding pictures to share with us!
Also, to celebrate our dad’s we are hosting a Father’s Day Cookout on Saturday, June 16th at noon. You are welcome to join your dad or granddad at the facility for hamburgers and hotdogs. We will have space available to eat outdoors on our patio or indoors if the bugs and heat are a little too much for you! Please RSVP to the facility at 563/873-3527 by Monday, June 11th if you plan to attend.
On Friday, June 15th at noon we will be hosting a volunteer appreciation lunch at the care center to thank those who generously give of their time and talents to provide kind, compassionate care to our residents. Volunteers, be on the lookout for an invitation to this event and RSVP to Debbie by June 11th if you plan to attend. I truly appreciate all that you do for our residents. Our facility is great because of people who care enough to give! Thank you!
