Activity Update
Summer is flying by and we are keeping busy here despite the warm weather. We spent time in June appreciating our fathers and our volunteers. We had fun trying out new recipes and playing our favorite games. We also had some surprise construction and are very grateful to have that out of the way. If you stopped by the care center during the last week of June you probably noticed the big tent in the entrance to the facility where we had to have some work done on an underground pipe. We are so thankful for Rick and the people at H&N Plumbing and Heating for doing a tough job in a short amount of time!
By the time you read this newsletter we’ll be starting July. If you were in town for the parade in Marquette I hope you saw our residents and families who participated and had a great time despite the heat! We will be celebrating our patriotism throughout the month with different patriotic themed crafts, beverages, treats, and trivia games. We are also welcoming back our Kindermusik friends on the 17th with a summer Kindermusik with Grandfriends event. It’s always fun to have the little ones over and to interact musically with them. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we’ll be able to spend some more time outdoors in July. We have been trying to go out in the morning for exercises when we are able and it isn’t too hot! It’s a nice change of pace and we all enjoy the fresh air.
We will be back at the Clayton County Fair during the first weekend in August. If you stop by the fairgrounds be sure to say hi and visit with us. Also, keep an eye out for the details of our annual Resident and Family picnic in August. As always, you are welcome to join us anytime for events that take place at the care center. We look forward to visitors and enjoying each other’s company.
