A Magical Picnic…
Well a Picnic & a Magic Show
Summer has flown by so quickly, I’m still catching my breath wondering where the time went! Every August we hold our annual Resident and Family Picnic. It’s always a great time of celebrating family, friends, and good food. This year we are planning an extra special picnic. On Tuesday, August 21st at 6pm we will be picnicking outdoors and indoors at the facility. We will be providing sloppy joes, watermelon, potato chips, and cookies. You are welcome to bring a favorite dish to pass to add to the deliciousness! Immediately following the picnic we will be treated to a magic show by Tristan Hauser from Prairie du Chien. I would encourage you to bring your family: kids, grandkids, and great grandkids included. He is sure to bring a lot of smiles and laughs.
This year we will also be hosting a booth at the Clayton County Fair with Elkader Care Center. Staff from GRCC will be at the booth all day on Friday and Sunday and staff from Elkader will be there on Thursday and Saturday. If you are out enjoying the festivities be sure to stop by and say hi. We are planning on having a selfie station set up for visitors to have fun with. Be sure to share your pictures to our Facebook page and use #OurStoriesLTC. I plan on using that hashtag in the future to keep track and share the fun experiences, memories, and stories we share in long term care.
Just in case you haven’t met our facility mascot, Grace, here is a picture of her cuteness. Be sure to give her a pet when you stop by!
